Haku warns her that Yubaba controls people by taking their names, and that if she forgets hers like he has forgotten his, she will not be able to leave the spirit world.
Sen faces differentiation from the other workers because she is still a human and not a spirit; only Haku and Lin show sympathy for her. While at work, Sen invites to a wraithlike spirit called “No Face”. A “stink spirit” arrives as Sen’s first customer, and she discovers he is the spirit of a polluted river. sen helps ”No face” to cleaning .After bathing, the spirit of No face is revealed to be a powerful river spirit, who gives Sen a magic emetic dumpling.
Sen sees paper Shikigami attacking a Japanese dragon and recognizes the dragon as Haku metamorphosed. While searching for the injured Haku, Sen encounters Yubaba’s big infant son, Boh. Sen finds Haku, who was attacked by Zeniba, Yubaba’s twin sister, because Haku had stolen her golden seal. She mutates Yubaba’s son, Boh, into a mouse, creates a decoy Boh, and mutates Yubaba’s crow into a hummingbird. Sen confronts No-Face, who is now massive, and feeds him the rest of the dumpling making him regurgitate several million tons of black poison and the bathhouse workers, then No-Face follows Sen out of the bathhouse. No face, Sen and Boh, travel by train to Zeniba’s faraway cottage. At Zeniba’s home, Sen gives the sigil back to Zeniba, apologizing for having squished the black slug. Haku appears at Zeniba’s home in his dragon form and flies Sen, Boh, and the harpy to the bathhouse. No Face decides to live with Zeniba as her assistant. On the way of bathhouse, Chihiro recalls the previously meeting with Haku: some years ago, she had fallen into a river and was rescued by the river’s spirit. She then realizes that the spirit of this river, called Kohaku River, and her friend Haku are one and the same (and thus revealing Haku’s real name). When they reach at the bathhouse, Yubaba forces Sen to identify her parents from among a group of pigs in order to break their curse. Chihiro correctly states that none of the pigs displayed by Yubaba are her parents, and thus wins back both her parents’ humanity and her own freedom from the bathhouse.
